Passage: Acts 2
Acts, chapter two, is the birth announcement of the Church. Fifty days after Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead, the disciples obediently waited in Jerusalem for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost, the Church was birthed and God began a great movement by his Holy Spirit that continues today. We stand in the continuum of what God began almost two thousand years ago. And followers of Christ have the same power available to them that was experienced by those first-century believers – the power of the Holy Spirit.
