The Apostle John records an amazing encounter between a Samaritan woman and Jesus. Breaking through a number of boundaries between Samaritans and Jews, Jesus leads her on the road to saving faith through a conversation about living water. That “living water” is available today not only in coming to faith but also in continually going to Jesus to fill our souls and quench our thirst for purpose, meaning and fulfillment. This is what will keep us from drifting in our relationship with God.
