God called Abraham to leave all that was familiar to him and journey to a land promised to him and his descendants. God makes a covenant with Abraham, and Abraham responds in faith to God’s promise. Likewise, God has called us to believe him and his promises, just as Abraham did. We are called to a life of obedience – all built upon his grace which he gives freely and sovereignly, and is grounded in his willingness and ability to keep his promises.
