We see in Exodus 34 a demonstration of the longsuffering love and mercy of God. The people of Israel had sinned grievously against God, yet God chose to forgive them, though his justice needed satisfaction. Such is our experience with God through the work of his Son on our behalf. And when we become God's child by grace through faith, God inhabits our lives through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Moses experienced an outward exposure to God's glory. But we experience the inward reality of God's glory through the
