Commandment 7 addresses the subject of moral purity. God gave the precious gift of sexual relations to be enjoyed within the context of the marriage relationship between a man and a woman. We have paid a terrible price in consequences because of violating this commandment. Perhaps more than in any of the other commandments, we see that God has given this instruction not just as a prohibition, but as a protection. Obeying this commandment is not easy, but it is essential if we are to live faithfully to God’s desire for our lives.
