Moises and Aaron take the message to Pharaoh: “The LORD says, ‘Let my people go.’” Pharaoh responds, “Okay.” Oh, if it had only been so simple. The battle of Yahweh versus Pharaoh now begins. God had already told Moses that only by his mighty hand would the Egyptian king ever relent. It would be God who would ultimately prevail. It was Moses’ responsibility to simply be obedient to what God told him to do. The rest would be up to God.
