Moses: Preparation and Commission

March 18, 2012 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: Exodus

Topic: Old Testament

After 40 years of palace living, Moses tries to intervene in the brutal treatment of his fellow Hebrews. If he thought they would rally around him as their Deliverer, he was sadly mistaken. He flees Egypt for his life, settling in with the nomadic Midianites. For the next 40 years, Moses is “on the shelf,” in the “penalty box.” But God wasn’t through with Moses. He calls upon Moses to take up the mantle of leadership and commissions him to return to Egypt and lead the Israelites out of bondage. But does Moses buy into this plan? Only after an amazing conversation where Moses puts up a series of objections.
