We are often better at what we believe than how we live, aren’t we?  In Romans, chapter twelve, Paul shifts focus from doctrine to application, from theological to practical.  In the first two verses, he states two foundation imperatives if we are to live rightly, if our lives are to accurately reflect and represent what we believe.  They are consecration – yielding our bodies to God as a living sacrifice, and character – being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Now in the remainder of the chapter, Paul gets down to shoe leather, down to where we live, how we walk.  He talks about a proper evaluation of ourselves, and then lists specific actions that should characterize how we relate to others if we are, indeed, experiencing God’s transforming work in our lives.  Evaluate your relationship with others by means of this checklist.
