This message from Romans, chapter thirteen, examines three debts that each of us owes. The first debt is what we owe to government; that is our public debt. Then there is the debt we owe to others – our private debt. Finally, there is the debt we owe to God because of our gracious salvation; this is our eternal debt. This debt calls forth a response of righteous living in light of the consummation of history and our salvation.
