The Apostles’ Creed commences with this affirmation: “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth.” The Creed begins at the beginning – the place of origin as far as our understanding goes. It begins here out of necessity. If we are to make sense of life, if we are to have a framework of understanding, this is the place where we have to start.
