The New Testament describes the Christian life as a spiritual battleground.  We wage war against the flesh (Galatians 5) and “against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6).  But the Apostle Paul declares a significant truth in this passage that needs to be our perspective in that battle.  It is this: We do not fight FOR victory; we fight FROM victory.  The truth is, Jesus Christ has already won the ultimate victory through the cross.  We must do daily spiritual battle holding to this truth, fighting in the context of this truth.
