Hope is the confident expectation of guaranteed certainty that what has been promised will be fulfilled. Biblical hope is found in a person in history anchored to an unprecedented event in history: the person is Jesus of Nazareth; the event is his historical resurrection from the dead. Because of the resurrection, we have certain hope in the future. And hope for the future determines hope for today.
