If we are going to understand The Promise of Christmas, we must go back to the beginning. Without seeing the events of Genesis, chapter three, we miss the reason for Christmas. We have to put the fall of man and the redemption of man together to make sense of it all. There are two truths that we must hold simultaneously. Both are essential if we are to understand our problem and God’s solution which lie within the promise of Christmas: Sin is far worse than we realize; Grace is far greater than we imagine.
