Miles Stanford, in his book The Principle of Position, writes that “if the believer does not know of his position in the Lord Jesus, and how to abide in Him as his very life… he will struggle in his un-Christlike condition rather than rest in his Christ-centered position.” It is so important that believers know and understand all that God has declared to be true of them. These positional truths include the following that happen at the moment of one’s salvation: saved, raised up, seated, blessed, chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, inherited and sealed. Our identity in Christ must begin with the truths of our position and then those truths must shape the way we view our lives and how we live our lives.
