Don't Lose Heart in The Race

October 12, 2014 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: The Steadfast Heart

This final message in the series, The Steadfast Heart, explores the exhortation to not lose heart in the race (of life). The Christian life is pictured as a race and the Christian as a runner. The writer of the New Testament letter of Hebrews urges his readers (and us) to run the race set before them with awareness, resolve, endurance and focus. We have a “running partner” who ran his race - a completed race that makes possible the sinner’s reconciliation with God. “Consider him (Jesus) who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
