Star Date: 15 June 2011 - First Blog Log Entry
2Greetings! On behalf of Larry and Billie Sheafe, Stan Harris and my wife Bonnie, I welcome you to this trip blog. We’ll be flying to Israel tomorrow night, 16 June, and won’t land in Israel until 5:30 PM their time – 10:30 AM EDST in the U.S – Friday afternoon 17 June just before the start of the Sabbath. That is my first tip for helping you get the most out of the blog – if you want to know what time it is in Israel, just add 7 hours to your local time for those on the East Coast. We’ll be hiking over portions of the entire country during our two weeks – north, west, south, and east – desert, mountains, foothills, coastal plain and the Dead Sea at 1300’ below sea level. I’ll attempt to chronicle each day’s events (Stan Harris will post a pic or two, also) pending internet connectivity at the various hotels we’ll be staying in. A good time to check for a new blog entry each day is about 2 pm or later EDST (9 PM or later Israel time). Another good tip is to check our daily locations using a map program like Google or Bing maps. I’ll try to use current Israeli map names, along with the Biblical site names if they are different, to ease finding the location. Thanks for following us on our journey. I pray that you spiritually benefit from doing so. Please pray for us, too. Shalom.
