People are presented with all their warts, all their inadequacies, and all their failures and foibles. The family of Abraham is a good example. This family history is filled with deceit, trickery, lying, and even attempted murder. But as the story of Joseph, Abraham’s great-grandson, unfolds in the book of Genesis, we see him breaking the cycle of family dysfunction. And how he does that is the same thing required of a believer today: forgiveness.
