A Call To Renewal
God judges Israel for their rebellion and unwillingness to enter the land following the spy mission (Numbers 13 and 14). None of that generation, save Joshua and Caleb, will realize the promise God made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now, it's forty years later. The Israelites are camped east of the Jordan River. On the verge of their entering the Promised Land, Moses calls the people to renewal - a renewal of commitment. He calls them to reaffirm their allegiance to the one true God. How applicable this call to renewal of commitment is for God's people today.
