When things just aren’t going well in our lives, we wonder if there really is a purpose and direction that makes sense. The Bible gives a truly clear answer to that concern. It declares that God has an eternal plan; that everything he does is guided by his divine purposes. After Adam and Eve disobey God’s command, exercising their independence from their Creator, God enters into the human story from the very beginning to redeem a people for his own possession. It is the story of redemption. We are going to trace that story through the lives of some primary characters. In their stories we see God making a covenant with them, a covenant that culminates in the Redeemer himself.
