In the movie, A Christmas Carol, we watch the transformational change that occurs in Ebenezer Scrooge’s hardened heart as he wrestles whether or not it is possible to re-direct the future away from the past.  All of us are products of our past, a past filled with mistakes and regrets and consequences of choices we have made.  The true meaning of Christmas is redemptive in nature.  The work of the Cross (the purpose for which the Christ-Child came) is sufficient to change the impact of the past upon our future.
