The Power of the Gospel (Acts)

June 12, 2016 Speaker: Mark Petersburg

The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 1:16 that “the gospel is the power of God for salvation.” The gospel, “the good news,” is the power of God to save. It is sufficient to accomplish God’s purpose in saving sinners. There is a process that we see throughout the book of Acts: the gospel is shared; the gospel is believed; the gospel is celebrated. The Gentile soldier Cornelius, in Acts 10, is a wonderful example. This pattern in Acts is the same pattern we see and should see today: the gospel shared; the gospel believed; the gospel celebrated.
