Confident Faith: Abraham and Sarah

January 25, 2015 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: Studies in Luke

Topic: The Gospels

Oswald Chambers writes, “Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time.” That so describes Abraham and Sarah. God made them a promise about a son, an heir who would come from them. The Scripture says that “Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Abraham’s faith simply rested upon God’s promises. What God promised, Abraham believed. He trusted in God’s truthfulness, his faithfulness and his power to do what he said he would do. We are called to depend upon those same things about God in our faith walk: his truthfulness, his faithfulness and his power.
