God made a covenant with Abraham, recorded in Genesis 12. One part of that covenant was the land of Canaan. After the Israelites came out of Egypt, they journeyed to Mount Sinai where God met with Moses and handed down instructions, laws, ordinances, and commands to govern the religious, personal and civic life as a unique nation. This new message series picks up where the Old Testament book of Exodus ends. We will journey with Israel from the spies sent into the land (Numbers 13-14) to the east bank of the Jordan River (where Moses gives his final charge) and on into the conquest of Canaan (book of Joshua). This first message deals with the report of the spies, the fearful rebellion of the people, and the subsequent judgment of God. From their story – faced with giants, perhaps we can find some help in our story as we deal with giants in our own lives.
