One of the vexing issues facing Christians in Corinth was whether or not it was permissible to eat meat that had been sacrificed to idols.  To understand the seriousness of the matter, we need to look at the cultural setting and why this was a question at all.  Having done that and understanding the way Paul answers the Corinthians, we can draw out a principle for application in the 21st century.
