Farmers & Builders

April 14, 2013 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: 1 Corinthians

Topic: New Testament Letters

Within this larger section of First Corinthians dealing with the problem of disunity, Paul paints a number of pictures.  He speaks of the Corinthian believers as “infants in Christ,” as “God’s field” and “God’s building,” and finally as “God’s temple.”  These are very descriptive of the conduct and identity of the Corinthians.  Then Paul describes how those in the church should view his and Apollos’ ministry: as servants, as farmers and builders.  This also gives us some insight as to how we should view our ministry.
