Wisdom & Power

March 24, 2013 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: 1 Corinthians

Topic: New Testament Letters

The Apostle Paul deals with the deficiencies of human wisdom and human power to comprehend God’s purpose of redemption. The cross – God’s method to provide the basis of forgiveness and reconciliation – is seen to be foolish and weak in the world’s eyes. “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong…so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” The message and meaning of the cross is the same today as it was in Paul’s day: “to those who are called…Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
