Cliques, Sticks, Picks, Ticks. These four words capture what was going on in the church at Corinth. After reminding these believers of their identity in Christ, he takes them to task for the disunity that had infected their relationships with one another. Disunity, to a great extent, was the root of the other problems Paul will discuss in this letter. Paul appeals to them to be united in mind and judgment. This would be his counsel to churches today who are manifesting many of the characteristics present in the Corinthian church.
