As God prepares to execute his judgment against Pharaoh, Egypt, and Egypt’s gods and goddesses, he instructs Moses to prepare the people for this horrific night by instituting the ritual of Passover. The selection and slaying of the Passover lamb is a beautiful symbol of the Lamb of God who would become our substitute, a sacrifice for our sin. It is then the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead that certifies that this sacrifice was wholly sufficient to satisfy the justice of God and appease the wrath of God. He is risen; he is risen indeed!
