In the Parables of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Loving Father (the Prodigal Son), we have a glimpse into the heart of God. We see a God who seeks after those who are lost, and the great joy and delight that comes to Him when they are found and restored. In response to “seeking and finding” Zacchaeus (Luke 19), Jesus revealed his motivation and mission when He said: ‘The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” As the church, the body of Christ, this too needs to be our vision and mission.
