Mary, the Mother of Jesus

March 27, 2011 Speaker: Mark Petersburg Series: Studies in Luke

Topic: The Gospels

Mary – a person perhaps over-honored by Catholics, but under-honored by Protestants.  How does Luke present Mary in his Gospel account?  What can we learn from her as an ordinary person chosen for an extraordinary task?  The answer is: “Much.”  She, herself, in the Magnificat says that she would be called “blessed” throughout all generations, and so it should be that we honor her as the mother of Jesus our Savior.
