In Romans 9, Paul begins to address questions about the Jews’ position in grace.  How do they fit within God’s plan as Paul has outlined in the prior eight chapters?  Isn’t the fact that they were God’s “chosen people” sufficient for salvation?  Paul’s answer has direct bearing on the basis of our own salvation today.
