Children's Ministry includes children ages newborn through Grade 6. The purpose of Children's Ministry is to reach out to children and to teach them to know, to love, and to serve Jesus Christ all the days of their lives. Our hope is that children and their parents will find a place to belong here in our church community. Parenting can be really tough, and it’s not something to undertake alone. In addition to ministering to the needs of the children here at Knollwood, the Children’s Ministry also strives to connect parents and help them form meaningful relationships with each other through Bible Studies and Community Groups.

Starting August 1 - Classes for kids ages 0 through 6th grade will be open. This will also serve as Promotion Sunday, so kids should attend the class that they will be entering in the fall (I.e. If he/she is beginning first grade in the fall, they will be with the first graders in Kids Connection).
- Masks will be required downstairs for parents/guardians, volunteers and kids 2+, per CDC guidelines
- Families must pre-register their kids online each week (Registration opens the Sunday prior and closes on Friday evening)
- We will have class size limits to help facilitate social distancing
Please fill out this Emergency Information Form for the 2021-2022 year.
Q: Are masks required?
Yes, masks are required for all parents/guardians, volunteers and children ages 2+ when downstairs in the Family Center. We will continue to monitor and follow CDC recommendations and FCPS guidelines.
Q: How do I get a spot for my child?
Parents will need to pre-register their children for each Sunday service. Pre-registration can be done by using the link above. Registration will open each Sunday and close on Friday. Since each room will have a classroom limit, make sure to register early in the week to get a spot.
Q: How many kids will be in each room?
For the time being, we will have a limit of 8 kids in the nursery, 12 kids in Lions, 17 students in Kids Connection, and 12 students in Fusion. This is to help limit crowding and allow for more distance when in the classrooms.
Q: What cleaning procedures will be happening?
All classrooms, restrooms, common surfaces and toys will be cleaned and sanitized prior to each service. Likewise, all toys that cannot be cleaned will be removed from the classroom.
Q: Will there be a large group gathering?
No, children will stay with their classes for the entirety of the time.
Q: Which class should my child be in?
Starting August 1, kids can go to the class for the grade that they will be attending in the fall (i.e. if they are starting first grade in the fall, they will go to the class for first graders). If you would like to discuss which class would be best for your child to attend, please email email@example.com.
Q: What if my child is sick on Sunday or we learn that we cannot attend for some other reason?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can open your spot up to another family!
Q: What is available to our family if we are still not comfortable attending in person?
We invite you to stream the service online with your kids! Additionally, we send out weekly video content that you can watch and discuss with your kids! Email email@example.com if you would like to receive this content.
