Worship Arts Ministry
Mission Statement
Our Ministry exists to passionately and creatively lead the Body of Christ in an authentic response to all God has revealed Himself to be, actively stewarding the gifts of our body to influence the world for the glory of God by worship in "spirit and in truth" (John 4:23-24), engaging the mind, body, and soul in authentic worship to God.
The KCC Worship Arts Ministry is passionate about finding creative ways to communicate truths about God, His character and His work, and then creatively leading the body in a passionate response in worship and praise. We utilize the vast artistic gifts from within the body to lead in this response - everything from worshipful congregational and special music to scripture inspired dramas; we are driven by our ministry's mission statement that guides all that we do:
Worship Team
Corporate worship is intended to be diverse and exciting, laying aside of personal preference for the greater good of the church body's worship experience. The Worship Team requires musician’s (instrumentalists and vocalists) personal commitment in time and expertise with a committed heart for service. Musicians must demonstrate an ability to flow with the group as well as technical ability. We meet once a week for rehearsal on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Tech Team
The KCC Tech Team is our critical support group. These individuals are led by an experienced and talented audio/sound technician who ensures that the Team handles everything “technical” for our Sunday services and other church community activities. Interested parties should have an ear for music, be able to manage multiple tasks and have an attention to detail, as well as an aptitude for balanced instrumentation.
Adult Choir and Ensembles
The KCC Adult Choir and Ensembles provide an excellent opportunity for our musically gifted members to exercise their gifts in a more casual, less time intensive manner. This group gathers 3 to 4 times a year. Rehearsal time is minimal at once per week beginning typically 4-6 weeks before the event.
If you would like to look into serving in one of the many opportunities within Knollwood Community Church’s Worship Arts Ministry described above, please contact Worship Arts Director, Matt Lorelli by email or at (703) 201-1514.
