Star Date - Tuesday, 21 June 2011
1Shalom friends and family! We - Billie and Larry, Bonnie, me, and Stan - have recovered from our 36 hour journey to Israel and are now completely with the program! We pushed hard today. We spent the day in the Negev desert and hiked to Tel Arad, a Bedouin village, Masada, and finished with a 'bob' in the Salt (Dead) Sea. It was the hottest day yet and the hike up and down Masada (Fortress) was challenging, to say the least. Billie, Larry and Bonnie are doing great and have met each hike with purpose and steadfastness. Stan is too, but is really becoming 'Mr. Photo' taking incredible images of the land and people of Israel (click on the link below to see todays photos). Our 'rabbis' Kevin and Danielle are tremendous teachers, compassionate and a lot of fun. The love of God shines strongly through them. Our other tour mates are diverse, impressive and a lot of fun. We have bonded as a 'family' through the shared hiking experiences. We learned so many things from the Word today that I don't have time to share them right now. Will do more of that tomorrow. Thanks for all your prayers and support. More tomorrow as we head to Ein Gedi and Qumran and then up to the Gailiee for 4 days. Shalom from all 5 of us!
