Star Date - 20 June 2011 Arava Desert & Eilat

4

We spent last night in Mitzpah Ramon (map name) on the rim of Machtesh Ramon. We had our morning devotion overlooking that canyon that has the look and feel of the Grand Canyon on a smaller scale. Then we were off for a two hour bus drive south to a place called Timna. There we hiked in and around a desert landscape that has a Utah desert look at it. It is one of the locations where the Hebrews followed the pillar of smoke/fire in the desert for 40 years. It was close to 100 degrees, 50% humidity with a nice breeze - not bad for the desert. We also visited a full scale replica of the Tabernacle and received a great explanation of it by a Messianic Jewish woman. After lunch we drove another 15 miles south to the Israeli resort of Eilat on the Red Sea for a swim. We then had a 3 hour drive north to the Salt Sea (Dead Sea) where we will work out of for the next two days. More to follow. KEY TEACHING POINT - Our rabbi Danielle taught us to 'never understimate the major contributions of minor Biblical characters (ex: Moses sister in Exodus 2:1-10).

So glad you are "feet on the ground." Thanks for the pictures. Really helps to share vicariously in the journey.

Happy Father's Day, Dad/Papi! Nana, Isaac misses you! Come home soon!

Sounds fun! You should let us know what you eat.
